Scramble Knights Online Launches October 26: Try the Demo Before Early Access

Scramble Knights Online now lists October 26, 2026 for its Steam Early Access launch, with a free demo available first. Funktronic Labs is building a shared-world action RPG around small adventures, dungeons, equipment upgrades and meeting other players. The important buying detail is the size of its initial release, rather than the scale of its eventual ambition.

The developer says the first fully playable area will offer roughly five hours of unique content. A much longer game is planned during development, but that future content should not be treated as part of what a buyer receives on day one.

Scramble Knights Online: the quick decision

  • Date: October 26 on the live Steam listing; Xbox’s October 20 showcase also announces October 26 for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC.
  • Try first: the free Steam demo.
  • Party: solo or up to four players in online co-op.
  • Launch scope: the 1-Star area, roughly five hours according to the developer.
  • Commitment: at least a year of Early Access is planned; that is an estimate, not a completion guarantee.

A small-party adventure in a shared online world

Quests lead out from the Town Square into an archipelago of enemies, towns and puzzle-filled dungeons. You earn materials and loot, return to improve equipment, then head out again. The official description also includes fishing, socialising and forming a group in the hub.

That structure gives potential players a clear test for the demo. Try the trip from town to a quest and back, rather than judging only the first fight. A social adventure needs the preparation, travel and regrouping to fit your available play sessions as well as its combat does.

What Early Access includes and what remains a plan

Funktronic’s Steam disclosure says the initial 1-Star area will be complete and playable, while optional faction PvP will be in an early state. The developer plans at least four Star tiers and roughly 40 hours of unique content for the eventual full version. It also expects the price to increase as content is added.

Those numbers serve different purposes. About five hours describes the planned initial area; about 40 hours describes a development target. If your group wants a finished campaign with a predictable end, waiting for further releases is reasonable. If you enjoy revisiting a growing game and giving feedback, the demo can help you decide whether its current foundations suit you.

No launch price was displayed on the checked Steam page, so this preview does not make a value judgement against an unverified price.

PvP is optional, but the online setup still matters

The current store page describes faction PvP as opt-in. That matters for a group that mainly wants cooperative exploration: competitive encounters are presented as a choice rather than the sole purpose of play.

Steam also discloses Easy Anti-Cheat with kernel-level anti-cheat, a broadband connection requirement, and separate Windows and Linux specifications. Check those details on your intended machine. A Linux listing alone is not a verified Steam Deck compatibility verdict, and this article does not promise one.

Try the demo with the people you expect to play with

The developer’s demo announcement says demo progress carries over to the full game and gives October 26 at 10 AM PST as the end time. That wording uses PST even though the date falls during daylight time in many North American regions. Treat the developer’s stated date as the deadline and play ahead of the final morning rather than relying on an assumed local-time conversion.

A practical group checklist is simple: confirm everyone can connect, agree whether you want optional PvP, try a dungeon together, and inspect how equipment upgrades fit different play styles. These are suggestions for evaluating the demo, not claims from our own play session.
