Gears of War E-Day early access starts today, October 1, at 8:00 AM PT, 11:00 AM ET, or 15:00 UTC for Premium Edition players. The full launch is October 6, so this is a real five-day head start, not a timezone trick. Standard Edition and Game Pass access do not unlock the game early. See Gears of War: E-Day on the official site.

1. Gears of War E-Day early access opens at 11 AM ET
Xbox confirms one global unlock time for Gears of War: E-Day: October 1 at 8:00 AM Pacific, 11:00 AM Eastern and 15:00 UTC. There is no need to region-hop or guess which midnight counts. Check the official Gears of War: E-Day launch details.
2. Premium Edition is the early-access ticket
The Gears of War: E-Day Premium Edition includes up to five days of early access, the Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack, 1,000 Iron and five seasonal customization packs. If you only own Standard Edition, October 6 is still your launch day. Compare Gears of War: E-Day editions.
3. Game Pass joins on October 6
Gears of War: E-Day is coming to Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, but Xbox says those memberships unlock the game on October 6. Game Pass by itself does not include the October 1 head start. See the official Game Pass timing.
4. Pre-install is already live
Pre-install for Gears of War: E-Day began September 29 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and Steam. Premium owners should install before the unlock rather than spend the first chunk of early access staring at a download bar. Open Xbox’s pre-install and PC spec guide.
5. Season 1 begins with early access
The Coalition says Gears of War: E-Day Season 1 starts with early access and runs eight weeks through December 1. Launch content includes maps, modes, cosmetics and limited events, while Ranked Versus is scheduled for October 13. Read the official Season 1 breakdown.
6. The package goes beyond campaign
Gears of War: E-Day brings Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago back for an origin story, but it also includes multiplayer, co-op and Horde Siege. The campaign supports two-player co-op, while multiplayer and progression launch alongside the broader package. Explore Gears of War: E-Day features.
7. Waiting until October 6 is completely reasonable
If you already bought Premium, Gears of War E-Day early access gives you the full reason to jump in today. If you are on Game Pass, happy with Standard Edition, or want several days of launch feedback first, October 6 is the smarter value play. Five days is nice. It is not five days worth of panic.
