Use the coupon, and check the final order total
The ordinary Unity product listing currently shows US$99.99 against US$199.99, a 50% discount before the giveaway code. The Publisher of the Week page is the source for the free offer. Seeing a paid price on the product page therefore does not mean the code has already been applied.
If you choose to redeem the gift yourself, follow the promotion’s featured-asset link, apply the exact code and confirm that the eligible asset is free before completing anything. Other discounted Synty packs are not automatically part of the free gift. This report did not add an item to a cart, test a checkout, accept terms or claim a license.
Fantasy Villagers Sidekick parts and creator tool
Synty’s official product page lists 83 Fantasy Villager parts and 91 Sidekick human species base parts, plus access to the Sidekick Character Creator Tool. Unity’s broader description rounds these to 80+ and 90+. They are modular parts for building characters, not a promise of 174 complete premade NPCs.
The advertised Unity tool supports editor customization, material colors, presets, saved characters and baking completed characters into a combined prefab. The listing also describes a Unity Runtime API for in-game customization, humanoid rigging, body blend shapes and facial blend shapes. Integration, gameplay logic, character UI and target-device performance still need project work.
Check your render pipeline before importing
The published compatibility row is Unity 2021.3.36f1: Built-in compatible, URP compatible and HDRP not compatible. The package is listed as version 1.0.1, 117.9 MB, with a January 29, 2026 release date. These facts describe the asset package; the current promotion does not make it a newly released tool or certify every later editor version.
For a project on a newer Unity release, import into a disposable project or branch first. Check materials, humanoid animation, blend shapes, baking and the actual runtime customization path you need. Do not treat a listing’s optimization claim as a measured performance result for your scene. HDRP users should not assume a free price solves the stated incompatibility.
The free gift still has a restricted license
The Fantasy Villagers Sidekick listing labels the selected license Restricted Single Entity and links the Unity Asset Store EULA. Its license dialog says the publisher restricts monetization in applications primarily built for user-generated content, and use in products primarily enabling NFT minting and exchange. Review the exact terms for your intended use.
The license dialog says Single Entity contractors need their own separate license. Its Multi Entity description includes parent, child and sister entities and contractors working on the project. The free gift does not automatically select that broader option. Check the license shown for your order; free does not grant unrestricted redistribution or direct-store entitlements.
Fantasy Villagers Sidekick: Unity and direct-store terms
Synty’s direct-store page describes its own purchase, seat and engine options. Those terms are not proof that a Unity giveaway grants the same direct-store entitlement or Unreal workflow. The strongest fit is a Built-in or URP fantasy project that needs customizable villagers and has time to validate its character pipeline.
