Steam game deals October 4 2026 are still rolling through Valve’s Autumn Sale, but today’s five picks deliberately avoid the same current offers ZeroToBeast already covered on October 2 and October 3. The headline is Hogwarts Legacy at $5.99 USD, with four very different games joining it between $1.99 and $5.99. Start with the Hogwarts Legacy Steam deal.
Every offer below is a direct Steam purchase and is currently listed through October 8. Prices are USD and may differ by region. These Steam game deals October 4 2026 are not ranked by discount percentage alone; each pick needs a strong reason to actually install it, not just become another cheap rectangle in your library. Check live Steam pricing before checkout.
1. Hogwarts Legacy: $59.99 to $5.99, 90% off
Hogwarts Legacy is the fantasy pick for anyone who wants to spend a ridiculous amount of time simply existing around Hogwarts before remembering there is a main quest. The open-world action RPG puts you in the school during the 1800s, lets you learn spells, brew potions, care for magical beasts, build talents and explore Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, the Forbidden Forest and the surrounding countryside. Combat mixes spell combos, counters and crowd control, so the fantasy is more active than a museum tour through familiar locations. At $5.99, the barrier to trying that fantasy is dramatically lower. Get Hogwarts Legacy for $5.99 on Steam.
The caveat is that its enormous map can become repetitive if you try to clear every icon, and some role-playing choices are lighter than the setting initially suggests. Steam also lists Denuvo and an 85 GB storage requirement. The $5.99 price is for the Standard Edition, so compare editions if extra cosmetic or content bundles matter to you. 2. Ori and the Will of the Wisps: $29.99 to $2.99, 90% off
Ori and the Will of the Wisps is what you buy when you want movement itself to feel like the reward. Ori chains jumps, dashes, launches and attacks through hand-painted environments that gradually unfold into a huge interconnected playground. The sequel expands combat well beyond the first game while keeping the precise platforming and emotional storytelling that define the series. The result works equally well for players chasing beautiful exploration and players who enjoy learning a movement system until difficult sequences begin to feel effortless. Get Ori and the Will of the Wisps for $2.99 on Steam.
The caveat is that precision platforming can get demanding, and anyone who dislikes backtracking or ability-gated exploration may bounce off the Metroidvania structure. Steam lists the game as single-player with controller support, cloud saves and HDR support. At $2.99, though, the cost is almost comically small relative to the production quality on screen. Check the Ori and the Will of the Wisps Steam offer.
3. Prey: $29.99 to $5.99, 80% off
Prey is for the player who sees a locked door and immediately starts asking whether the ceiling, maintenance tunnel, recycler charge or ability tree can help cheat around it. Arkane’s Talos I space station is built like a giant systemic puzzle, with alien powers, improvised tools, firearms and environmental routes that reward experimentation. The Mimics give ordinary objects an extra layer of paranoia, while the station itself slowly becomes familiar enough that clever route planning feels like a skill you earned. Get Prey for $5.99 on Steam.
The caveat is pace. Prey is not a nonstop power-shooter, and the opening hours can punish careless resource use. The $5.99 offer is the base game; Steam lists the Digital Deluxe package at $7.99 with Mooncrash and Typhon Hunter if you want the broader package. For players who enjoy immersive sims, that two-dollar step-up is worth comparing before checkout. Compare Prey editions on Steam.
4. Left 4 Dead 2: $9.99 to $1.99, 80% off
Left 4 Dead 2 remains one of the easiest co-op recommendations to explain: four survivors, hordes of infected, special enemies designed to punish isolation, and an AI Director constantly reshuffling pressure so repeated campaigns do not play exactly the same way. The shooting is straightforward, but the social rhythm is the hook. Someone wanders off, a Smoker decides that was a terrible idea, and suddenly the entire team has a story to yell about. Workshop support and years of community maps give a two-dollar purchase a frankly absurd amount of replayability. Get Left 4 Dead 2 for $1.99 on Steam.
The caveat is age. Left 4 Dead 2 launched in 2009, its presentation is obviously from another era, and public matchmaking can be rougher than playing with friends. If you want a polished modern progression grind, look elsewhere. If you want a co-op game that gets to the point almost instantly, $1.99 is still hard to argue with. Check Left 4 Dead 2 on Steam.
5. Alan Wake: $14.99 to $2.24, 85% off
Alan Wake is the narrative pick, built like a supernatural television thriller where an author’s missing manuscript starts predicting the nightmare around him. Combat revolves around weakening darkness with light before firearms can finish enemies, while Bright Falls supplies forests, roadside Americana and escalating reality-bending weirdness. It is also the most direct way to understand the roots of Remedy’s connected storytelling before moving into Control and Alan Wake 2. Get Alan Wake for $2.24 on Steam.
The caveat is that this is the original PC release, not Alan Wake Remastered, and some combat encounters repeat the flashlight-then-shoot rhythm more often than modern players may love. Steam also lists the Collector’s Edition at $2.99 and the Alan Wake Origins Bundle at $3.74, so the base game is not automatically the smartest package for everyone. Which Steam game deals October 4 2026 fit you?
Pick the experience, not the percentage. Choose Hogwarts Legacy for a wizard-school open world, Ori and the Will of the Wisps for gorgeous movement-driven exploration, Prey for systemic sci-fi problem solving, Left 4 Dead 2 for co-op chaos, or Alan Wake for a story-heavy supernatural thriller. These Steam game deals October 4 2026 are listed through October 8. Verify your regional Steam prices before buying.
ZeroToBeast already covered a different set of current Steam Autumn Sale offers on October 2 and October 3, so today’s five are intentionally fresh picks rather than the same sale article wearing a new date. Compare yesterday’s Steam Autumn Sale picks before choosing.
