EA SPORTS FC 27 The Grounds is one of the clearest differences between the Switch 2 and original Switch versions. Nintendo highlighted the mode again today: The Grounds and Clubs are available on Switch 2, while the original Switch edition does not get them. See EA SPORTS FC 27 on EA’s official site.
1. The Grounds is Switch 2 only on Nintendo hardware
Nintendo says EA SPORTS FC 27 The Grounds, including Clubs, is available on the Nintendo Switch 2 version but not on the original Switch. That is an entire feature difference, not just better resolution. Compare FC 27 features on EA’s site.
2. The mode is a social football playground
EA SPORTS FC 27 The Grounds combines Kickabouts, 1v1s and Clubs inside one broader social football space. EA describes it as a place to develop your Pro, earn progression and move between casual and organized activities. Explore The Grounds on EA’s official page.
3. Clubs lives inside The Grounds
For Switch 2 owners, EA SPORTS FC 27 The Grounds is also the home of Clubs. League and Playoff matches return alongside new Club Tournaments and progression systems. See EA’s FC 27 launch update.
4. Up to 100 players can share the wider online environment
Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing supports online play for up to 100 players in EA SPORTS FC 27. That does not mean a 100-player football match. It reflects the scale of the broader social environment and activities. Check the Nintendo Switch 2 store listing.
5. The Switch 2 version has a much larger storage footprint
Nintendo lists the Switch 2 version of EA SPORTS FC 27 at roughly 66.5 GB. Portable players should plan storage before downloading, especially if FC 27 shares the console with several other large games. Review the Switch 2 product details.
6. The real question is whether you care about Clubs
If you mainly want Career, Kick-Off or simple portable football, the original Switch version of EA SPORTS FC 27 still exists. If Clubs and EA SPORTS FC 27 The Grounds matter to you, Switch 2 is the version built around those modes. Compare EA SPORTS FC 27 platforms on EA’s site.
