PlayStation Plus September 2026 Game Catalog Guide

SUBSCRIPTION GUIDE • PLAYSTATION PLUS

Build a home in Ashenfall, book your own wrestling spectacle, or turn a pit full of monsters into an experiment in ricochets. September is a month to choose a mood, not download everything.

The headline additions to PlayStation Plus pull in very different directions. RuneScape: Dragonwilds asks for an ongoing adventure, WWE 2K26 offers a sprawling wrestling playground, BALL x PIT leans into escalating combinations, and Date Everything! turns an ordinary house into a cast of unusual relationships.

Before choosing, there is a scheduling detail to correct: the whole lineup does not arrive on September 15. Sony’s announcement gives several regional exceptions. This guide uses the published US/UK dates below, with Japan’s Date Everything! difference noted; check your own regional catalog before making a subscription decision.

Premium’s additional September 15 listings are Mega Man X Command Mission for PS5/PS4 and Metro Redux for PS4. Sony warns that catalog and Premium/Deluxe lineups vary by region.

Dragonwilds: the one to organize a group around

Dragonwilds is a survival-crafting adventure in RuneScape’s setting, not a console port of the original MMO. Its appeal is turning the familiar routine of gathering, building and improving gear into a magical expedition. Jagex’s description includes spells that make resource collection part of the fantasy rather than leaving all the wonder for combat.

That makes the game particularly interesting for a group that likes having a shared purpose between fights. A base is a reason to return, a new region is a reason to prepare, and a dangerous target gives those preparations somewhere to lead. It is less obviously suited to someone who wants a self-contained action mission every time they sit down.

The PS5 listing supports solo play and up to four online players, with PS Plus required for the online mode. Jagex confirms crossplay for the full release, which leaves Early Access on September 15 and brings the Scorned Wilderness update alongside prior content. That provides a concrete reason for friends on different platforms to investigate it together.

Our pick for: a group willing to return to the same world, or a solo player who enjoys building toward a difficult objective. Before starting, agree on who will be available and how you want to handle progression. A shared survival game is often a scheduling commitment as much as a download.

WWE 2K26: decide which part of wrestling you want to play

For some players, the attraction is recreating a favorite rivalry. For others, it is directing the show: choosing the roster, building a character or imagining a different result. WWE 2K26 caters to that broader fantasy, with a CM Punk-focused Showcase and new match types including Inferno, “I Quit,” Dumpster Match and 3 Stages of Hell.

The important choice is your mode, not merely your favorite wrestler. If your ideal evening is playing matches with somebody beside you, start there. If it is constructing a longer-running wrestling universe, look at the management and customization systems. A large feature list is useful only when it includes the part of the sport that keeps you interested.

There is also a monetization distinction worth making before treating catalog access as “everything included.” 2K’s Ringside Pass FAQ describes free and separately purchasable premium tracks. Progression requires an online connection, and some match arrangements—including matches with two or more local human players—do not award the relevant RXP.

That is a practical warning for couch players, not an argument that they cannot enjoy the game. It means your preferred way of playing may not advance the reward track you expected. The FAQ says older passes do not expire when a new season appears, so there is no need to frame the whole experience as a rush to complete a current pass.

Our pick for: existing fans who want to sample the current game’s match and show-building options without separately buying the base game. Check the specific character or DLC you care about before assuming the subscription unlocks it.

BALL x PIT: the experiment that becomes the evening

At a glance, it is a game about bouncing balls into enemies. The reason to keep watching is what happens when those projectiles become a build. Kenny Sun and Friends’ roguelite combines ricocheting attacks, ball fusion and a settlement that turns resources from your runs into further possibilities.

That gives the action two scales. In the moment, you are trying to make an increasingly busy screen work in your favor. Between attempts, you are deciding what to improve and which character or combination to explore next. The appeal is the chain reaction: a small decision becomes a conspicuously different way of clearing the pit.

Our pick for: players who enjoy discovering combinations and seeing a run escalate. It is not the same proposition as a measured turn-based tactics game, despite the decisions around upgrades. Watch how much motion and visual activity the trailer contains if a crowded screen is a concern.

Its PS Plus arrival in the US, UK and Japan is September 22. Do not mistake its existing availability for purchase—or a demo on another storefront—for an earlier catalog entitlement. This is precisely the kind of game a subscription can make easy to try, but only once it is actually included in your region.

Date Everything!: a house full of personalities

The joke is immediate: magical glasses make household objects dateable. The more interesting promise is what Sassy Chap Games builds around that joke—a sandbox dating simulator with 100 fully voiced characters and branching relationships. An everyday home becomes a place to investigate because almost anything in it might have something to say.

The player fantasy is curiosity rather than conquest. You are discovering personalities, choosing responses and seeing a familiar object reframed as a character. Sony describes relationships that can become romance, friendship or enmity, so the title should not be read as an instruction to pursue the same outcome with everyone.

Our pick for: dialogue-led players who enjoy an absurd premise and want the cast, writing and performance to carry the experience. It is a less natural fit for someone looking for combat, complex physical systems or a game to coordinate online with a group. The humor and subject matter are part of the decision, not incidental packaging.

The earlier arrival makes it the most immediate of these highlighted options in the named regions. Check the game’s content rating and local listing, then give the premise a chance to show whether its particular tone works for you. We have not played through its routes and are not presenting the number of characters as a quality score.

Does Premium add enough for you?

Mega Man X Command Mission brings an RPG spin on the familiar characters rather than the usual expectation of side-scrolling Mega Man action. Metro Redux packages the story-driven Metro 2033 and Last Light adventures, whose underground setting mixes combat, stealth and survival-horror atmosphere. They are different reasons to explore an older catalog, not substitutes for the four PS5 highlights above.

We would not upgrade tiers solely because two names appear on a list. Compare the actual upgrade cost shown on your account with the games you intend to play during that period. If the existing Extra catalog already fills your available time, more access may not add much practical value.

Catalog access is not free-to-keep ownership

Extra and Premium grant access while the relevant subscription and catalog availability continue. Games can leave the service. Buying DLC does not preserve access to a catalog base game after it leaves or your membership ends; Sony says you need to regain access to that title to use the associated purchased content again.

That makes the best plan simple: choose one game you genuinely want to begin, verify its arrival and tier, and resist buying extras before you know you will keep playing. A subscription’s value is the experiences you use—not the size of the download queue.
